a hot wind blows out of the west

from whence comes summer storms

storm tossed muddy waters of an inland sea

the bamboo screen lifts repeated like a coquette with a busy skirt

a flirting skirt like that fiercly yellow hibiscus that caught my eye the other day.

a frenetic florid dance of spring building to a runner's pace

rushing to that finish line known as summer

where all is languid once more

and all the flower are hot house flowers

only they are not fragile here

as Florida is a hot house in summer

the whole darn state.

A winter's day dawned clear and cool.

Knee deep in the steamy blond grasses.

Man made clouds written on the winds.

Scribbling like a mad man on the vault of heaven.

Tree branches like bony fingers pointing at an empty blue sky.

And every where the bright winter sunshine.

All golden tatters running to horizon

Chasing the sun as he fled

Hair aflame crashing down through blue skies into the sea.

Writing on the liquid mirror

Written in the sky

Written in the stars

Written on the wind

Pearl drops of lucid liquid

A mirror until the end of days

Days end and comes a liquid mirror

Sinks into the dusk

Resplendent the in the red glare of a setting sun

Veiled paradise of floating islands

Cloud sculpture floating in lucid pools

Smooth woolly warmth

Feathered serpent seeks the sun

Plumed serpent in the sky.
